Hello,
I have a somewhat specific question. Can I also install and activate Ista on an external SSD? Because I don't want to install on the root C: because I often reinstall or update Windows. And I would have to constantly re-register Ista. And so I thought about installing Ista on an external SSD and activating it so that I could have peace of mind with constantly buying and activating it. greeting |

I installed ISTA on a SD card 512 GB (128 MB/s) on a Windows tablet from China. It works great. Maybe this information will be useful.

After reinstall windows ID for generating license is changed. So after reinstallation ISTA will not register with the same license because it will think that the computer is different.
You just need another computer for experiments, the one with ISTA, use it only for verified things that work. |

I haven't reinstalled my windows for at least 5 years. For experiments (and installing viruses) - do that on VM then revert it back if problems. |
