Hi All,
I am new to this, but am a retired electronics engineer.
I have a 2001 Fiat Punto with a problematic ECU (Idle control output). ECU is Magnetti Marelli IAW 59F M2 I have another ECU but realise the IMMO will be a major issue - ie - it will not start lol

Please can someone advise me how to go about disabling the IMMO in the new ecu, or, copying the contents of the 'old' ecu to the 'new' one ?

The ecu would appear to have the ST10F168 or 269 micro onboard.

Is there any 'easy' way to just remove the IMMO ? - or, what software / hardware do I need please ?

Any help appreciated.

read with apropriate interface
ou make wirgin piu simple

You can read eeprom and make immo off..or yust swap it in new ecu..

I understand about reading eeprom / flash in general terms - but, I have never read or programmed ecus before., so, I do not know what hardware / software to use for this specific ECU ?

So, sorry if I was not clear, I need to know what hardware and software I need to use please ?
Or, is there any plans for an interface I can build ?

Sir you cant work manually in that car. You need proper tools because is a hybrid ecm . Better to ask a professional to do that for you, its a cheap work.

I use marelli cdc, someone use the marelli tuning 59f. An un stabile and low quality interface.
Im doubting ecm is responsible of your problem, ive seen several punto and no one with defective ecm with that problem, all has p0351 or p0352.

Your original ecu could be defective.just buy a plug and play one from ebay with same part number.its quiĉker änd cheaper for this ecu

I have the same problem with my fiat sltilo.
the ecu is Marelli like your IAW 5NF.T1. It's look that this packet Marelli have all the same problem. If you resolve this problem please sand me the solution
