"Made in W Germany" rofl. They could not even put pin numbers near the proper pins biggrin All numbering is rotated anti-clockwise by 1 pin smile

If you need a quick solution, you could try adding a wire between pins 15 on both ends, but seeing there is not even a pin at that position in 16pin end...

use virtual GT1 instead with icom. see if it connects to it with other control units with connection to your icom and your chinese adapter.

Yes it get me on first look biggrin
I can remove pins easily so i can move pin 13 Blue wire to Pin 15 and re solder it on the other end

will have to get GT1 at first place. but will give it a go, Thanks

GT1 or no GT1 it WILL NOT WORK without L line on MS40 AFAIR. IMHO this is the pure minimum set of wires  for diagnosis. Other things (TD, service reset, etc require more wires).

For E34 series ICOM A with ICOM C adapter (round, 20pin) is enough. Works like a charme from 1987 models till last ones from 1996.

No need for ICOM D (ICOM D is the adapter for motorcycles).

Yes, you are right!

I mistyped! C-D

Still no luck even I did modify that connector I think I have to buy original one

RE: BMW E34 connection to ECU not possible - Node - 31-05-2023

If your ICOM is chinesium it may well be it has no L line at all....

I mean working one...

RE: BMW E34 connection to ECU not possible - JacekS - 31-05-2023

Ohhh dear, so now best will be to get original Icom with adapters I assume or something like ads cable ?

If you have an oscilloscope you could check whether it tries to communicate on pin 15 of OBD2...
