please use ISTAD to avoid doing something wrong since it's a critical operation which requires some basis knowledge in this field
Start your ISTAD and connect it to your car, then:
+tab: Operations
+tab: Read Out Vehicle Data
=button "Complete Identification"
+tab: Vehicle management
+tab: Service function
+menu: Drive
+menu: Diesel fuel electronics
+menu: Adjustment functions
+menu: DDE-CAS
=button "Start search" and follow the instructions

yes, you need an ICOM for E series
or via ETHERNET network
or via USB / ETHERNET adapter (with ASIX Chipset)

for older car (E36, E39, E46...) you can use BMW Scanner
for newer car, yes for the VIN in most cases
mileage, I don't know

very nice application! How do I submit multiple job parameters in the Expert section? Is there some kind of special separator?

it's depending on the ECU you are working on and the JOB type
the separators are comma or semicolon or space

However, just like dbond in post#18 in my car too the gauges don't display data.
Is there a solution for this?
