I had the same problem in the tablet PC of Windows10.
On the PC of other Windows7 and 8 it worked perfectly.
The reason did not know…
My solution was re-installation of Windows10.
Now it is operating perfectly.

When you get the error window, click on the X button and not OK button. It will continue to work

I have the same error
I know that clicking on "X" the screen is closed and continue works, but ..
Anyone know how to do to eliminate this error screen?

Maybe you should really read this ISTA thread. This empty window appears when your computer's hardware check fails. What exactly failed you can find in the log. Or download beemerboy88's version with the hardware check removed. But you might want to see what is wrong as future versions can have stricter checks or not work at all, so you will know what you should consider upgrading...

The problem must be other than hadware.
The PC has a i7 processor (4 cores), 8Gb RAM, 512GB hard drive and more 200GB free. I think meets all the hardware requirements for ISTA 4.
I read the entire thread before asking.

All "empty" windows I saw or heard of were caused by hardware checks failing. If you case is different I would really like to learn why but that is not possible without seeing your log file. I don't understand why you want everyone to guess possible causes (you claim your case is unique being not hardware check) instead of posting one log file and helping community to learn.

Interestingly, I've had this issue when I've tried to start 2 instances (located in different directories of ISTA). I'm wondering if you exited a previous instance of ISTA gracefully or whether it is still alive in the background as a process.
