e90 engine swap issues - Ryn079 - 06-09-2025

Good afternoon,

i performed an engine swap on an e90lci with N47 and manual transmission.  M57 with Automatic transmission was used and i also used the abs pump from the 330d.

I rewired dde and added some wiring for egs.  Programmed relevant modules and vehicle started.  But i have an issue, that in drive or reverse, the engine revs up to 1500 rpm only, in neutral it reaches limiter.  No errors are being logged except for message due to missing LDM.

any idea what could be causing this please?

thanks

pretty normal, LDM is required, so a recovery torque limiter will engage in DDE

please elaborate on "programmed relevant modules" what you have done?

Changed ews in cas, flashed dde and eggs with donor vehicle software as dde was not present.  Do you think installing ldm will do the trick?

What do you mean by "tuning the engine ECU"?

It's not just removing dtc, correct?

Winkfp using engine/transmission donor vin to flash correct software

Why did you flashed DDE and EGS ?

dde was not original, so i flashed dde and egs with latest software using winkfp.

Winkfp using engine/transmission donor vin to flash correct software

And that's the problem, winkfp doesn't flash the correct one but only the latest one without caring of correctness
