Rns510 bluetooth help - moiloon - 03-11-2015
I am in need of some advice regarding purchasing a oem Bluetooth module kit for an rns510 a revision, the car is a vw Passat 09 uk, the rns was fitted to replace the original headunit,
ive been looking on aliexpress for a oem fitment Bluetooth kit, but there is a couple of different ones and I'm confused which to purchase, iesome steering wheel button control some not, some require some manual splicing into wiring, others do not, some have info on mfd display and on rns others not,
the car its for doesn't have steering wheel controls anyhow so this function not needed,
I don't want to purchase the wrong kit, and not sure if splicing into canbus wiring will cause problems or lights on dash ect, hope someone can guide me to a correct purchase,
also I realise that vcds is needed to code Bluetooth once fitted, I have this software but any info for how to accomplish this would be great too

It depends what dash you have if red display you have DDP protocol if white or colour display you have BAP protocol.
The best one for you if you have white dash is modul 3C8-035-730-D or E (have wi-fi function)
If you have red display best is 1K8-035-730-D it fit to white display too but no 3G. This one is universal DDP/BAP

just been reading more to get my head round what I need, but the above link isn't what I'm after I believe
, I need a kit to interface directly with the rns510, ie be able to use the touchscreen of unit to make and answer calls ect,
now I do need some help to get correct parts to accomplish this, forgive myignorance regarding this
someone please help me here, I'm now very stressed lol

I and a friend fitted the 97w kit in his vehicle (09 uk Passat) this car doesn't have buttons on steering wheel or buttons for phone ect in the above head light console , everything functions correctly, ie interact with the rns 510 (fitted after vehicle was bought) he can access phonebook ,answer calls and make calls all on rns510 screen, but cant get the voice activation/commands to work, the mic is the one which came with the 97w kit (plug and play harness version) looked in vcds and enabled voice, but still nothing, how do I achieve this task please?
is there something that needs wiring differently??
