Hi,
I have a weird case on a G21 330e 2022 with 6U3 SA:
MGU displays component protection and KOMBI has trouble to power up (stays black for 5 mins, then is alive)
All of this happened after a BMW 5ёяvїcё.
No iLevel update done during this 5ёяvїcё.
I removed CP with Feature Installer, and locked everything with i5тд. No fault codes when I left.
But now clients calls me back, telling me that component protection is active again.
Could the KOMBI, while offline whereas all other car ECUs are awake, help to trigger the CP ?
Or it's only BDC issue?
If someone can point me in the right direction...

What jobs got done while the BMW 5ёяvїcё?
Is the car stock or got the headunit астїvатёd / ратснёd before with FI code?
What about component protection on BDC?

Regular maintenance according to AIR. Oil change and véhicule inspection.
Car is stock according to client. All of this happened after 5ёяvїcё by BMW. Nothing was done outside BMW before this.
The car has ID7, therefore no CP on BDC.

Car has istep S18A-24-07-530
and all of this happened after a maintenance early december 2025
So unlikely to have remote software updgrade done

Here is the i5тд fault codes report after running FI for CP removal.
Many DTC about missing messages from KOMBI
Hence my question about the KOMBI being responsible of all this

This list does NOT have any CP triggered faults! It only has CP initialization NOT STARTED fault, which is quite DIFFERENT!
I don't see how KOMBI can be responsible for that. BUT you have ethernet communications reset faults in BOTH MGU and KOMBI. This, among other reasons like physical bus faults, can also be due to different firmware levels in different units. I would first exclude that possibility as it can be kinda easily verified in KIS data, just need a list of current SWFLs in KOMBI/MGU/BDC.
IF firmware levels are same, then MGU itself would be as good a suspect to me along with KOMBI, because KOMBI is not connected to BDC directly but via MGU instead...
I really hate that i5тд does not provide data about which specific ethernet link has issues, that would shine light onto this picture very nicely. That information can be accessed using tool32 though!

This report is AFTER FI removal, but BEFORE CP initialization, that I did just after.
CP was triggered when I came.
SVT ist enclosed, if you are able to verify, that would be very kind of you.
About ethernet test in tool32, I'm afraid I don't know how to check this

I suggest that the past 5ёяvїcё has nothing to do with the current problem.
Also no idea, if OTA is working on this car:
6P1 Temp.deletion, Remote Software Upgrade
The ATM is working, also BMW connecteddive app is working and will show you the current position of the car?
