VAG MEDC17 CVN fїж Tool - VMCt - 08-02-2026

This tool allows you to correct CVN & Checksums for (M)EDC17-ECUs from VAG.


  • You can upload you original file and see what CVN is stored
  • Also you can upload your modified file and correct/ратсн CVN with the original (only with ori-file)

This tool is binded to your PC-Hardware. Lifetime-Licence for this tool is 50€

If certain areas of a file are not detected or analyzed correctly, I would appreciate it if you could send the file to me by email so I can investigate the issue and improve the tool accordingly.

SW Detection Improvements
Dual SW detection still active and shown in LOG.
Preferred SW is from area Dataset.

PMU1 Detection
Certain TC1797-based ECUs (e.g. EDC17CP44, EDC17CP54) have a second internal flash bank (PMU1).
PMU1 is never included in OBD/virtual reads or FRF containers — only a full BSL read yields the complete їшяgё.
-> The OEM CVN is calculated over PMU0 + PMU1. 
Without PMU1, only the "Classic CVN" (PMU0-only) can becomputed, which will differ from the vehicle CVN!

The tool is no longer relevant with this ECU, all warranties for these cars have expired

GUI
- New 4-row layout: Info panels, Checksum TreeViews, Log, and fїжed bottom action bar. Clear ORI/MOD split with vertical dividers.
- All info fields are now selectable and copyable (readonly Entry widgets).
- Right-click context menu (Copy, Select All) on all fields, logs, and TreeViews.


Feature back in tool: fїж CVN + Checksums
- New button corrects all failed block checksums (ADD32, CRC32) AND ратснes CVN in one pass.
- Existing "fїж CVN" button now only ратснes CVN and its affected CRC32, leaving all other checksums untouched (for flash tools that auto-correct them).

Workflow
- MOD panel is locked until an original file is loaded. Reset re-locks it.

The "Emulation extension chip" (Block 0xD0) is now treated as optional during validation.
OEM files are no longer incorrectly marked as modified due to this block.

CAL-ID field: displayed above CVN in both panels, built from SW-Number + SW-Version

Manual ратсн
Manual ратсн button: new action bar button, available as soon as any file is loaded
SW-Version ратсн: manually overwrite the 4-digit software version in the binary
CVN ратсн: manually set any target CVN value in hex
Safe ратсн order: SW-Version → checksums → CVN → final CRC32, always in sequence
Post-ратсн panel: all fields re-populated from ратснёd data, checksums re-validated
