this fw is what i was using on my carprog untill the other day
after seeing the other post above about wrong version ect with darcia
i decided to go through all my fw 8 dumps and check them now changed to another
i now get this message

The bigger question is which tool is recommended for jlink or JTAG connection?

J-Link clone

Or parallel port method... but I don't think I have a computer with parallel port anymore.

Jlink works great (this is what i use all the time)
but simple 5 resistors works fine too
