Very nice and clever.
I saw some people put the pins into the empty pins of the DB-25 parallel port instead.

Ordered a couple new carprogs and I noticed the erase pin of the atmel chip is connected to a wire that leads to an "empty circle" (not sure what it's called). Do not have to lift the processor pin anymore. Just solder to the empty circle.

Yeah you can wire from inside on board to db25 on spare pins then use a wiggler or jlink.
I made an adapted wiggler that has db25 socket on both ends with the 5 resistors you need for a wiggler so just plugs straight in.

The hole on pin 55 track is a via/through hole it connects the top track to the track on otherside of board which goes to ground smile

On mine pin 55 is lifted and connected to a 3pin jumper header so mcu can be switched between gnd erase flash modes. so dont need to open anymore just connect to computer and 12v then switch jumper for programming mode smile

Mines now same as above
i put pin 55 to a 3 way jumper and jtag points are all wired to the db25 so i dont need to open it anymore.
just plug in jlink (made adapter from db25 to jlink)
this adapter is also my A9 test adapter

Ah, so if pin55 is still connected to ground, then I have to lift it. I was hoping it wasn't connected to ground.

Will continue lifting. Just don't want to break a pin.

Yeah I broke a few pin55 in my time lol you can cut the track on board if your careful cut it between pin55 and the via then connect directly to pin55 on chip then you dont have to lift the pin smile
