Will continue lifting. Just don't want to break a pin.

Yeah I broke a few pin55 in my time lol you can cut the track on board if your careful cut it between pin55 and the via then connect directly to pin55 on chip then you dont have to lift the pin smile

this is only if the carprog has a track with via from pin 55
some dont and need pin 55 lifting (mine didnt have this track)

Hmmm, my pin55 track doesn't 'seem' to be connected to ground? Is this what you guys have?

No need to be connected to GND

Thats the easy type of carprog to do
like said cut the track and use both sides of the cut track
mine didnt have this so i had to lift pin 55

Why you want to cut the track
In this model pin 55 is not connected to gnd just goes to the other side
The photos are a couple of posts above

That's what I was trying to say. I will wait for my new multimeter to make sure. But I saw that track connected to nothing on both sides.

RE: CarProg All Questions/Answers Here! - domelec - 05-04-2017

Then its even easier
if its connected to nothing (which i doubt)

RE: CarProg All Questions/Answers Here! - dil6222 - 05-04-2017

Pretty sure its connected that hole has a via like I said which is small metal ring pressed in the hole and connects to other side its just been covered by greencoat and filled the hole if you check I'm sure its in ground plane not separate padsmile but as you say check with voltmeter to be sure.

Just a quick side note a via doesn't have to be filled with solder to be connected look at some of the bigger ones on carprog and you can see light through them but there are connected by the pressed ring to the tracks on either side smile

Enabled let me and domelec know the results smile

Will do. I have 2 of these, that I will flash to 8.21.

My original one (from 2 years ago), I had to lift the pin, and I was a bit timid about it, as I never did something that small before successfully. But it went well.whew
