Ac not working after remote engine start g83? - xMoses - 24-08-2026

I have a strange problem, after doing remote start on a g83, the AC no longer works.

Ac compressor does not start. Today the car came back from the dealership and they said it’s because remote start.
They checked everything. There’s no communication between dme and ac.
Compressor itself works using bench cable.

I’m pretty sure that’s just a bad coincidence. Even after setting everything back to stock/delete f5с and code all Ecus to stock, it still doesn’t work.

Anyone had this issue before ?
VO coded the car to its original state..

What year was your G83 build?

I haven´t had any issues with different cars.
OS7, OS8 and OS8.5.

Are there any issues visible in i5тд when checking the IHKA?

Hi,

to help you, we would need more details about the G83 – as so often.
Build date, for example, and whether it is a US- or ECE-spec car.

Regarding what you are reporting – AC not working after coding – I know this issue from US-spec cars that were coded with an ECE-spec vehicle order.

Check if there is a magnetic coupling with valve instaled on AC compressor. Than check coding in ihka (if ihka4) and BDC

I’ve loaded the original vo from sgate to be sure I’m not missing any vo but still nothing
Even coded the whole car back to stock. Aswell as ihka5 using ncd2.0

The car is 07/2023 and EUR spec

That’s the vin if I’m missing any additional info.

Literally no errors, the only error we’ve had for like 1x was pressure sensor but that’s not coming back, bmw said the car “doesn’t” know that it has AC. But I’m pretty sure they just don’t want to mess around with that car lol

Because it has the OEM VO and stock codings

Generate NCD again and code IHKA5

I did code ihka5 back to stock with ncd, same problem

Hi,

checked it too – it is a German-spec car.

It seems the car was flashed to the latest iStep. Any details on why it was flashed and who did it?
As you can see, IHKA5 is present as an ECU, so you can start with dїдgиo5тїcs, for example using i5тд.
This is basically a standard dїдgиo5тїc job, which BMW refused to do.

They thought it was a software issue after retrofitting 1CR, that’s why they’ve updated it.
But instead of making the car back to stock, the flashed the entire car with 1CR in VO. After that I manually flashed it again back to stock using OEM vo without 1CR.

Yeah they said they tested ac compressor with a test cable. Compressor was working, then they checked AC gas, was good aswell

They said the ecu doesn’t communicate with AC compressor. „The car thinks it has no Ac”

They just didn’t want to mess with it since the car is flagged as “tuning” after retrofitting 1CR. That’s why they’stopped diagnosing it

Hi,

I've came across one F80 with this issue: us-spec coded with ece-spec.
What's the solution? code IHKA with US spec? or anything else?

Thanks
