VW Polo BLM/BAH Head bolts question - The K-Man - 28-09-2016

Hi guys,

Did rings, BE-bearings and valve seals on BLM engine.

Now have oil p..sing ex-manifold side between head and block on cam-pulley corner.

Would reuse of headbolts really cause this?

NB: Head was skimmed and block shows fine with straight edge and backlight.

Did headbolts 60nm + 180deg.

I believe all the crucial bolts on that engine are torque to yield, so yes that could be the problem but maybe not your biggest one.

I believe the rod bolts are TTY as well and should be replaced. If not, you risk a failure and a junk engine.

Refer to the service manual.
