I had the same crashes and problem generating HW-ID with this version (tried everything compatibility mode, run as admin etc) restart, no restart, as some of the postings here. (Using windows 8 x64)

As such for people having the same issue, you can use version 6.6.1. It works flawlessly for me and you dont need any Key generator.

My hardware: VCX nano USB & WiFi but problem is with my computer (hardware name or windows operating system version)

In case one finds a solution, my specific problem is the HW-ID window does not pop up in order to help us generate ID key, please let us know.

Update:
The solution was to reset/change the HD-ID (HWID Changer By Neos07) then Window HD-ID pops up again same as when first running program. I will give it a try.
