BMW e38 e39 e53 uncommon display issue - HETPE3B - 28-02-2017

This is about 5th time in my experience I see something like that (picture attached). It is not the problem with a LCD or the ribbon cable since the replacement of any one of those does provide the same result. For a couple seconds display works fine and then horizontal bars appears.
Is it a display driver or what?

This is a broken display controller (chip). I had it on a lot of other displays.

That's what I thought. But there are 3 of them, interesting how to find the correct one. However it is easier to replace the whole circuit board that to mess with soldering desoldering of those.
