Finding current software versions MMI 3G with HDD
Because I was asked the PM, how to find the version of firmware and nav. installed on a HDD 3G MMI will expose the steps to follow:
Step 1: Press the Setup button;
Step 2: Press the top right button corresponding to the Settings option;
Step 3: Navigate to the option Version;
Step 4: You should see a screen like the attached which are displayed both version and Nav Software. database version.
Note: 3G + is a little different as it is setup button, find in MENU / INFO.
Differences between 2G and 3G navigation systems mounted audi
MMI 2G
- No SD card slots
- Optional CD changer 6 separate drives and DVD Navigation unit in the trunk (to the left or right to a4 a6 Q7)
- Monitor 7 "low resolution
- No "joystick" on MMI control knob
- Write the DVD Navigation unit which version you
MMI 3G low DVD
- Two SD card slots
- DVD drive for navigation or music dash. Without CD changer
- Monitor 7 "low resolution
- No "joystick" on MMI control knob
- Write the DVD from the drive which version you have or enter setup / version information
MMI 3G plus high or HDD
- Two SD card slots
- DVD movies or music dash or in the glove box. optional CD changer in glovebox
- Monitor 7 "high resolution (800x480)
- "Joystick" on MMI control knob
- 40GB hard disk
- To find out what version of map you enter setup / version information

Hi,
I have an Audi A5 with 3GP MMI (with SIM) currentlly on firmware 530. I have been trying to update the firmware to 614 by:
1. starting the MMI
2. inserting an SD card with all the 614 files and folders in the root
3. waiting until the MMI has fully initiated
4. going into MMI Setup/Software Update and clicking update from SD1.
All tht happens is that the MMI scans the SD card and comes up with an error message saying, "Update Device Not Found". I've tried it with a DVD with the same result.
I must be doing something wrong, can anyone advise what it is, please?

The procedure is as follows :
2013 Audi MMI 3G HDD UPDATE
These updates apply MMI 3G HDD and Joystick great!
If you have aftermarket interface ( AMI, Dension ) , unplug them before upgrading.
Because there were cases of inattention, repeat the warning:
! Do not ever click Start Bootloader !
IMPORTANT ! Updating should be done with the engine running and no power consumption , otherwise there is a risk of battery quickly so dark when night lights , no power windows or sunroof open without heated seats etc. . Moreover , such a warning to consumers not to be current will appear simultaneously on the screen to start the installation.
There is still a danger if positions remain on , or light board .
January . Detailed upgrade procedure (please do CD1 , CD2 , CD3 )
- Start the engine , turn the ignition other consumers and not updating
- Put the CD in 2xSD card update CD / DVD
- Press any key and then configure CAR
- Then press Setup and press RETURN. Keep it pressed for 5-7 seconds and update menu will appear (Software Update)
- Press the update button ( lower right corner ) .
- Select CD / DVD as source Download Server
- There will be a version of the software , press the center
- Select Standard
- You will see a list of updates available on the CD and at the end of the list by clicking the "Start Download" . Confirm and then again "Start"
- Provides a system restart and then start to update
- In accordance with the options available on the car that will be updated in May said at the end of the installation it will show something like : 5 OK , 0 NOK (not OK) 0 N / A (not applicable ) . If options appear to NOK check " Try Again" .
- To appear in the end " device description " - from the list of modules and their status updated OK .
- Click "Continue"
- Press " Pause documentary "
- The unit will restart.
. To repeat the procedure for updating the maps updated in 1 SD card with maps using the SD1 slot card.

Thanks for your quick reply. However, I believe these instructions apply to the 3G HDD MMI and I have the 3GP HDD MMI.
I can't find an update option in the 3GP enginering menu so am trying the update through the MMI Setup menu where there is a customer update option.
I'm wondering whether I need to do the 612 update first?

Hello i have 2009 a4 with 3g hdd and a ipod/usb connection in the glove box would this suit my system the software number i have is hnav_eu-P0022_d1 and db version 8r0060884e_ece 5.8.5

After 6.17.3 3GP map install i run the activator.
But after restarting car navigation stops working after some minutes. says someting like navigation is not enabled
what to do?
