Thanks for help & suggestions regarding my 'GEMMI error'.
Went to local dealer & as suspected they did not have a clue, & were not to happy to help as I admitted I had tried to update the FW with a file I had downloaded of the internet. The plugged their VAG in & could not reset or fix. I had to book the car in for next Thursday when one of the is diagnostic experts will try to fix. Was warned if the MMI is bricked would be for my account, they could not do a warranty claim.
Came home, disconnected the negative terminal from the battery for 15 minutes, reconnected & the update re-started. I had also made a fresh SD disc, extracted using a windows PC, & the update proceeded & completed.
I think something got corrupted when I extracted the .rar file in my Mac. I extracted the .rar file on a Windows computer.
Now have K0767, but had a few nervous moments. Ready to try update South African maps if I can find them.

See post 347 for the right order, after that mmi is still working with old maps. Use maps 8r0060884bk from post 1 and activate with activator from post 3. Do the 4 updates in the right order, if you do that there's no problem!

I successfully updated MMI 3G with hard disk, it is not necessary to go green menu hide or delete the old map , I followed this step :
Update the firmware to version 257, CD p / n 8R0 906 961 DF
One . Insert the CD to update firmware or SD card with all file copied from the CD to the root book
Two . Press SETUP + RETURN FPR 5 seconds
Three . Click UPDATE
April . start update
May . Exit when finished (about 50 min)
Update to version 6.17.3 map
One . Load latest map SD
Two . Press SETUP + RETURN
Three . start update
April . When the output finish ( about 2 hours)
activation map
One . Insert the SD card activator 2014
Two . Press SETUP + RETURN
Three . Select " Enable MAP 2014 "
April . Exit when finished ( about 3 min)
It is important to start the firmware update , if you install the map update before and after the firmware update , you must repeat the procedure for updating map another time to update another file , which are only compatible for the new firmware version 257 .
The last step is to remove the error code 03276 - Please check the software version households with XOR procedure usually 5F adaptation channel 10 .h**p://w**.audienthusiasts.c*m/Appli..._SVMError.html
After the update will be enabled in the MMI Hidden Menu Navi Plus (3G): (only for car navigation equipped)

Can i use all the downloads to Change/Upgrade my MMI EU Nav. into Asia Navigator/Map. If not how do i change or upgrade the Map Navigation from Europe/UK Map Nav. to Asian/East Asia Map Navigation.

I asked for K0256 update for 3G Basic. K0253 is for High (with HDD).
I have currently car with 3G Basic and I wanted to update all possible versions of firmware. Reached to K0206 and next should be K0256 (2013 firmware) but its nowhere to be found online. So thought someone has it and could share.
K0257 is last update and that I do have already.

K0256 has different index (i.e. K0253 is CC) and there are also newer versions for 3G Basic, min. K0257 (DK) ...

and also didn´t found the CG file, I have prepared K0070->K0206->K0257 for update 3GBasic(stock fw from 2010), it should be enough, am I right? Btw. what for do you need K0256 (when you already have the newer - do you think there could be something more than in DK)?I´ll be also glad to have it even just for comparison

I just purchased 2010 A5 and it has 3G Basic. I dont know exactly what differences there are between 2013 and 2014 firmware versions but just to be sure I want to install them all. I started from K0031 as I had initially K0022.
I ordered K0256 from Audi but thought to ask maybe someone has ordered it before and could upload the content of that CD.
But seems no-one has it or just does not read here. So probably will have to go to Audi to get the disc.

Responsible attitude - good for you (at least fw´s aren´t so expensive as maps
) but AFAIK it is not necessary to do every update. What I´ve read it should work correctly even with just a few major(/bigger) updates and I´ve also read that someone have successfully updated MMI Low directly to K0257, in one case even with version for HNav(DF) (after change of checking version in main/swdl in green menu and followed by SVM and probably even recoding LC...) but this I will probably not follow (at least till I´ll better know this QNX distribution/what exactly I am doing), don´t want to brick the unit ... So if someone have more detailed (correct) info, I think we wouldn´t be alone glad to know about it

I have now updated many different MMI-s from 2G to 3G+. In most cars I installed straight from old (2009-2010) version to latest 2014 version skipping at least 3-4 versions (example from K0022 to K0257).
What I noticed is that when I do each update separately - altogether it takes me about 1-1,5 hour. But if I do only latest fw update then only this one update takes same amount of time. So I personally think that latest update covers all modules and if any of them hasnt been updated before, then it updates these too.
Only with one car with 3G High (HDD) I had problem doing all update versions - it gave me some new faults in different modules (Radio, 5F) that cannot be removed anymore. The usual faults I remove after each update.
Probably there will not be any difference in updating this K0256 version but as I dont have this version and would like my personal car to be updated maximally then I will buy this disc. It costs around 8 euros at Audi.
