Lancia ypsilon 06 steering problem - victorysatgr - 30-05-2017

Hello everybody..

A friend of mine have a lancia ypsilon 1.4 95 hp 06 suddenly the steering wheel getting heavy at the left and the red light on dashboard of the steering wheel turn on.
I use the mes 2.2 to make diagnosis but it can't read the torque sensor, the position sensor seems ok...
The mes give as error the torque position sensor or the electric motor...
if i turn off the engine and start it back the steering wheel work for a while so i guess is not the motor..right?

Can i check the torque sensor before replace it? if i replace it , can i calibrate it with MES or i need a special tool?

Hello
I like to inform the forum for the replacement of torque sensor, it is very easy and you can calibrate the new sensor via MES.

Hello mate,

did you solve your problem after replacing the steering culomn sensor?
do you have any picture of the work you did?

yesterday this problem happened on my girlfriend's Ypsilon 2006.
After turning off and onn again the engine, everuthing went back to normal.

I also heard problem could be depending on the battery performances.

Thanks
