VCDS 17.8.1 MULTILANGUAGE FULL - DTech - 05-08-2017
A friend of mine agreed that i share this for you:
Full repair for VCDS interface to any language.
In pack you will find:
a) eeprom+firmware(2 types)
b) hardware type detect program to know what to flash inside.
c) flash interface by usb (interface with genuine firmware , must be connected to 12V)
d) loader to be used with any genuine install kit
e) info.pdf to read how to do stuff
f) projects already made to flash by programmer (tl866 or usbasp)
g) ept and xml files for ft232rl or rq just in case.
Use original installer any language and any version until today.
Update 14.08.2017
Loader V2 compatible with RL-RQ-BL-BM interfaces.
Reworked tool for update interface by USB - keeps count of type of hw in eeprom.
New eeprom dumps for each version of hardware
Included in pack Progisp v1.72 and also Mprog 3.5 with templates
Remade projects with new dumps for Progisp and TL866
All versions released until today on any language work even NEZ one

Tested on rl and rq interfaces, not on bl since are so so old. but feel free to try and see. you will see if it works or not. if not use usb upgrader and put back old dump.

First of all thanks Dtech for sharing!!
My current interface is FW Version : 1.96,HW Version : 0x46,Identification : ROSS-USA and is working fine with vcds version 17.1.Pics attached.
Before updating to the newer 17.8, i would like to backup or make a copy of current software on my interface.Could anybody guide me how can i do that?few questions please:
1:Can i use LPT port to connect mosi,miso,sck,rst and use software.
2:If yes then what software can i use with lpt port to read my existing dump?
I have programmed atmega cards in the past using jeepers software.

I am sure your atmega is locked, so u can read it with a programmer. hardware is good, you have also programing pins on it. My advice upgrade it and be happy
Ok, things simple:
1. Open your interface and see if you have stc chip on it, if so remove it. As you are here you can have a look at ATMEGA162 and see what type of hardware you have.

2. Now you have 2 variants:write by programmer or by USB
a) Write by USB can be done if you are 100% sure you have inside your tool unmodified firmware and if you have lock of Atmega CC or FF. If so, connect your cable to usb, power it up, run VAGCOM_EEWRITE select your pid(in general FA24 for RL,RQ cable and FA20 for BM,BL) and write it.
When write is done, put loader in your installed program folder, launch it and test interface.
There you will get message to upgrade your firmware. Do it and you are done.
b)Write by programmer
For any programmer you will need to connect proper board, minimal MOSI,MISO,SKC,RST,GND, power interface, use eeprom and firmware(one of 2 depending on your interface) or if you use TL866 by ICSP and USBASP programmer you can load projects already made for them.
Program your interface, disconnect programmer, put loader inside installed program folder and run it. In this case you will not get any firmware upgrade , tool will be tested and all ok after.
For some that do not know how to tie a programmer to interface or have programing pins here are some small PDFs with infos,
also a connection diagram for those that have clone hex v5.

P.S.
This loader does not work for interfaces with FT232 BM or BL chips. Loader Version 2 works.

Possible 100%, when it will be done or will it be done..... we will see
BL and BM interfaces are so old, so i presume not a priority.
