Bosch ESP9 Premium LOGIN for Q7 4M 3.0TDI - spyderboyant - 19-09-2017

Hi,

does anyone know the LOGIN to change long coding on the Bosch ESP 9 Premium ABS module? I am trying to disable indirect TPMS and believe I know the correct BIT but cannot access the long coding to make the change. There are no adaption channels with this ESP, just the long coding protected by a LOGIN value.

cheers
A

FYI, 40618 is accepted but doesn' allow for updating the long coding. I get an "out of range" error when using VCDS 17.8

from another forum someone stated "before coding module you must enter "40168" in security access and then input the long coding, in some cases is neccesary input "00" at the end of the requested coding to be succesfuly accepted."

I have no idea what "00" at the end of requested coding means. I tried to enter as the Security Access Code 4016800 but VCDS complained that the code could only be 5 digits long

Also, VCDS is pulling descriptions now from modules BUT ESP doesn't have any descriptions so you need a long coding calculator that someone has put together or you need to compare between same makes of cars with different options (ie Audi PR codes). For ABS this is things like hill start, indirect TPMS, engine size, hill descent etc..

BTW, VCDS 17.8 shows some adaption channels for this ABS ESP module where ODIS 3.1.3 didnt

Hi
whats the partnumber on the ABS unit your trying to code?

regards

Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: None
Part No SW: 4M0 907 379 K HW: 4M0 907 379 K
Component: ESP9 Premium H08 0517

ROD: EV_ESP9BOSCHAU736_AU73.rod
VCID: 3FCE8CFAA631C3BBE0-806A

See attached. Used lots of cars to make comparisons and got it down to two bits in two different bytes

these two bytes and bits are the only ones that differ between cars with ABS TPMS (indirect) and direct TPMS with TPMS module an sensors in wheels!

I note these new ESP9 "Premium" ABS modules have 30 bytes of coding compared to the older one with 19 bytes and which their are calculators available. Wondering whether the 19 byte versions needed access code to change long coding?

Have you find any solution for the esp coding?

RE: Bosch ESP9 Premium LOGIN for Q7 4M 3.0TDI - spyderboyant - 10-12-2018

Yep... wink

Make sure you enter the workshop code etc... For some reason this module needs it to take any long coding changes.. good luck

Re working out what to change, you need to get your hands on some VCDS dumps of the same model car as yours. You then need to look at long coding on devices like BCM1 to see what PR options they have. also look for stuff like air suspension versus spring, towbar etc... Then its a game of elimination to find out what bits might be relevant for the change you want..

Thank you for that information, i will try it.

But also keep in mind that sometimes the coding is changing because of different version or functionality. In your examples one is part number R and the others are part number K.

@spyderboyant do you know the coding for ACC? I’m retrofitting ACC and I’m stuck on coding ABS.
