Q7 4M Bose retrofit help - no sound - spyderboyant - 20-09-2017

Hi,

trying to retrofit BOSE into my Q7 4M from active sound (amplifier in MIB2). I have created a new loom to run the existing speaker cables back to the rear of the car where the amplifier is. I have run all speakers except for the surround ones in the roof as I need to remove the headliner (and cut it) to fit the new speaker grilles. When I re-code the 5F (MIB2) to use external amplifer I get no sound. I would have thought I would have got some level of audio from the amp. Could this be because the 5F needs a certain dataset (ie VCP) to be able to talk to the amplifier. My 5F is version 4M0 035 041 G. I know others that have factory BOSE have amplifier 4M0 035 035. Comparing a mates car in the UK with mine, we have all the same components except he has BOSE and I have active sound.

I'm also seeing this error which doesn't mean anything to me along with Data set implausible errors. Could this mean my amp is stuffed? Its only a priority 6 fault:

RE: Q7 4M Bose retrofit help - no sound - aprietatuercas1974 - 20-09-2017

The dataset error is because it is not well parameterized the unit with the configuration of bose, to me I happened recently in a unit mib2 of a Seat Leon
The parametrice with vcp and errors out and running.
In vcp I think there was a file to bose that drive

Did it have no sound until you paramertized the MIB2?

If I had, but the logical thing is to remove the errors, apart that it may be that in behavior the behavior is different
