BMW F32 - DME Fault code thrown due to "vehicle speed too high" - F32_PiccoloPiccolo - 27-11-2017 Hallo everyone, as my car has the V-MAX removed and a stage 3 optimization, I tested the speed on a track as I was curious if my F32 435i could reach Alpina B4 "figures" or similar. Everything is great except when I reach the "higher" speeds, the following fault code is thrown: "DME 1B00A40 Driving Speed, plausibility: Vehicle speed too high". I attached printscreens from ISTA+. Nothing is triggered within the cockpit (no engine lights or similar). However I noticed this as the car would kind of hang and go no further feeling some sort of a throttle. However as the data shows, all parameters are within range and well safe: 6000 rpm Engine temp: 95 to 100 degrees Am I interpreting it correctly if I say DSC is throwing the error? I am sure some of you experts can understand much better than me when checking the ISTA+ printscreens I attached. I drove that with the DSC ON. This happens when the speed of 275 KM/h is exceeded. Does BMW have some sort of a "block" at the 275 km/h which could cause this? Any input, feedback is strongly appreciated. Thank you in advance. BMW F32 - DME Fault code thrown due to "vehicle speed too high" - darthur90 - 27-11-2017 The v-max was not removed, instead the value was raised. On my car it is raised to 300 km/h and i had no error when going with 285 km/h. Maybe the guy who modified the vmax value did something wrong. I did not think or now the V-MAX could also be "raised". I was convinced it would be removed all together and then chance wants that some models do 5-10 km/h more than others. Hi, find attached the CAFd structure from DME2 (DME). Please advise if more details about a specific position is needed? File is zipped. RE: BMW F32 - DME Fault code thrown due to "vehicle speed too high" - temsky740 - 28-11-2017 In your cafd max speed coded 320km\h. If we see in ISTA - it speaks about dsc. I advice u to learn cafd dsc carefully about something like speed parametr. May be u will find something there . RE: BMW F32 - DME Fault code thrown due to "vehicle speed too high" - F32_PiccoloPiccolo - 28-11-2017 Thank you. Yes DSC seems the culprit according to ISTA+ but it is the max value of 275 km/h which is somewhat confusing. I asked a tuner if I should test V-MAX with DSC OFF and he said it doesn't matter. When V-MAX is removed completely and properly there is no reason for this to happen as according to him DSC does not play a role in this. I am still not sure if that is so. RE: BMW F32 - DME Fault code thrown due to "vehicle speed too high" - temsky740 - 28-11-2017 Try to make control plan in ista on this mistake and see what ista will say |
