Audi Firmware update question - Techno_dude - 13-01-2018

Two questions actually:

1. Is it possible to update firmware 'without' having to reinstall/reactivate the maps?
2. Does anyone have a list of what each firmware upgrade actually adds in terms of functionality?

I have latest maps (dealer install) but old firmware. Don't want to lose the maps by upgrading and don't see any point upgrading fw unless it gives other benefits.

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes, firmware install is independent of maps
2. There's never a change log, but you can see some issues within TSBs.

1. Yes, if you updated maps official way = dealer

2. Most of them bug-fixs, and less some new features. However you can upgrade latest fw.

If the cards are updated by the dealer, and the official license is installed, then when updating the firmware, the navigation good work no problem
