Those steps points reflect how many steps the motor has to pass to get to the corresponding point. For example, when you drive at real 116 km/h (120 km/h as displaying speed), the speedometer arrow should be at point #4 and arrow's motor should pass specified number of steps at steps point #4. Hey, maybe you answer this question snce i dont quite get the logic behind that. I've got an 1 135 with 1M look cluster dial. Effective real speed: 0.0 / 7.8 / 47.1 / 116.0 / 268.0 Display speed: 0.0 / 10.0 / 50.0 / 120.0 / 300.0 Motor Steps: 0 / 248 / 1242 / 2982 / 6960 After youre logic, i have to do following math: 116.0 / 300 = 0,38 | 0,38 * 6960 = 2644.8 0 / 180.9 / 1092.7 / 2644.8 / 6960 That would be the right motor steps for the cluster to work properly for every block of the cluster. Is that right ? Or am I doing something wrong, I know theres a lot of information in this forum but I didnt get wat i wanted... Till 120 km/h the gauge is linear, after that its not. How can i calculate the steps i need between 120 and 330 so the speed will fit between drive speed and shown speed ? I've calculated 17,775 steps per Km/h till 120 kmH For 120km/h to 330km/h its 14,006 steps per KMH. Is there a way to calculate that ? Also the same value we have for 120 to 135 km/h range, because there is the same markup step. Based on this we can get amount of steps for 120-330 km/h and it's 210 * 11,85 = 2489 steps. The remaining 2133 steps are for 0-120 km/h meaning 17,775 steps/km like you you've calculated. So you were close, actually. But now I'm confused. If the speed dial is linear. I just gave to calculate the steps for (km/h / max amount of steps), right? Effective speed: 0.0 / 13.0 / 52.0 / 120.0 / 300.0 Motor steps: 0 / 200 / 800 / 1484 / 4622 should be right? Calculated 15.40 steps per kmh. So I can use this value to calculate all 4 points by calculating: 13*14,40 = 200 52*14,50= 800 120*14,50=1484 300*14,50=4622 But if I measure the cluster speed with gps app it's always 4-5 kmh off. The faster I drive, the bigger the difference becomes. Any bad calculation? EDIT: With oem coded cluster to 280 the GPS also shows a difference from 5 km/h. I guess it's like a tolerance? But still too much difference on the calculated cluster.
