Very slow EVO flashing - gvitkis - 12-03-2018
Hi guys,
I'm trying to update my EVO B210 HW 3.1 with esys 3.31 and the last PSZ with test bench with ZGW 02_8SK
For flash I used ENET and ICOM with DHCP and without, I can not understand why esys starts the flash only in UDS mode.
EVO is connected correctly with ETH from the small ZGW connector, towards OABR.
I have also tested the PC network card and it seems that it works, no problem for the coding and for the internet connection via LAN.
I hope the experts can help me

I have a question not realted to your problem. I have f10 with EVO retrfoitted and I don't know how should I connect it with ZGW? My car is 2015 and I want to wire OABR to ZGW but I have no idea where they should go, do you have some wiring diagram? Thanks.

Can you ping NBT?
If so then wiring is good, if not, then wiring is not good that's why it goes over UDS cause it can't use ethernet
If you can ping NBT but still going through UDS, then edit your TAL file, search for PROTOCOL (Prefered_Protocol) and change all values to HTTP.
If you have flashed Bootloader already using UDS, then leave it alone, don't flash it again. Only do SWFLASH and IBA, just those 2.
CDDeploy (Encoding) can be done after flash manually by doing CODE, make sure you use correct FA with matching VIN.

From tool32, I read IP of EVO which is 169.254.199.99 and subnet 255.255.0.0
I run PING from cmd and this is the answer:

also imposed preferred protocol in HTTP, but esys keeps flashing via UDS.

Thanks, but there's no wiring to OABR. I'm talking about EVO, not regular NBT. I want to flash EVO and I have heard that I need to wire OABR to ZGW to make it flashable .

Ethernet is ethernet, wires are the same
No difference between NBT and NBT EVO other than the plug on the NBT end. Both connect to plug A51*3B
OABR 17 - ETH_TX+
OABR 18 - ETH_RX+
OABR 19 - ETH_TX-
OABR 20 - ETH_RX-
And OP
Recalculate TAL from scratch. Use different FA if possible.

To flash NBT EVO I need to wire Ethernet from ZGW to OABR, can anyone confirm? Otherwise flash fails.

Yes of course, how you gonna do it otherwise? Via CAN Bus wires, UDS?
Of course not, so yeah install ethernet between ZGW and EVO.

Think I got it this is setup for retrofitted NBT EVO in F10 (connection from ZGW to OABR:
quadlock side NBT -> OABR EVO -> ZGW (F10)
31 ETH_THX+ -> 17 ETH_THX+ -> 11 (black/white)
32 ETH_THX- -> 19 ETH_THX- -> 12 (black/brown)
37 ETH_RX+ -> 18 ETH_RX+ -> 9 (orange)
38 ETH_RX- -> 20 ETH_RX+ -> 18 (brown/yellow)
29 ETHERNET A stays in Quadlock - nothing changes here
I have also ATM module already, I will swap sim card from my original TCB soon, NBT EVO has already my car's VIN, is there a simple way to change VIN in ATM? Can I just code it with different vin? Anyone?
