people mix in discussion international and country Versions (prices have nothing to do with).
the versions are different and you can't mix them.
at this time only the country version need update to 8.1 after 1241.
without having 8.1 you can't update 1242 and so on
international version don't need it till now

You are right... i suspect that German ETKA was different, and you confirm. Sorry by that..

how do we know what version we have??
in the first post is it international version??

With the version on page #1 you can install both German and international - so it is up to what you have installed.

If the update exe-files end on xxxd.exe it is for the German version.
If the update exe-files end on xxx0.exe it is for the international version.

it doesnt work, windows 10 64 bit, when i open ETKA shows that i have version 8.1 but when i want to update i must install it and then comes window "Etka 8 not found" i tryed everything.

this is complete bullshit. I started with a 64bit VM and the program just does not run and keeps saying PATH NOT FOUND, no matter what.

so I created another VM, 32bit. install ETKA, then it took FOREVER to download and apply all updates. I reached up to a point where I almost saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

now it does not run anymore, it just crashes, "MFC-Anwendung ETKA has stopped working".

SO FRUSTRATED...

No matter what I do I do not get to FILE 8.1.
always comes the error message the file 8 is not installed.
I've tried with data exchange and with the 7.5 to 8 update.
But it does not work.
Is there already another solution?
Have win 10 x64 and on D: installed but also on C: tried ..

I have installed international version successfully. During the update process I get this pop up. what should I do. if I install will etka 8.1 work? Note I chose to continue updating  but the pop up appears again and again.

You will have to "take the risk" and update to 8.1, otherwise you will not be able to update the data anymore in a few weeks time.... At least, that is the message included in the 8.1 install instructions. In my limited experience, there is no risk in the updating process to 8.1 itself, if it fails ("No Etka 8 found"), your Etka 8 still continues to function.

Here is a quick workaround:
You have to edit some data in the ETKA folders.

1. Search the following files in the ETKA folders
   Etka _User_au.ini
   Etka _User_se.ini
   Etka _User_sk.ini
   Etka _User_vw.ini

2. and paste the following information at "POI"
   Account = Etka
   User = Etka- Client
   password = Passw*rd
   
   Note: Sometimes * don't work, so please insert o instead of *

   Depending on the operating system, from time to time the plain names 
   are not recognized, therefore the following data should be used:

   account = BE1E75CD9AB8B7C3
   user = BE1E75CD9AB8B7C3
   password = BE1E75CD9AB8B7C3

For anyone who had already tried to update to ETKA 8.1 and can't finish the setup, here is a possible solution.

!!! Before you start please make a backup of you ETKA Folder !!

1. Prerequisite:  The folder "C:\ETKA\PROG\IX\" is available in your ETKA Folder.

2. Copy the contents of the folder "C:\ETKA\PROG\IX\PROG\"   to   "C:\ETKA\PROG1\" and overwrite the existing files.

3. Copy the contents of the folder "C:\ETKA\PROG\IX\DATA\"   to   "C:\ETKA\DATA\" and overwrite the existing files.

Now ETKA 8.1 should start without any problem. Maybe the solution for missing user data has to be done now.
