I did not manage to install the 8.1 etka update.
Question:
according to the below solution 2
2. Copy the contents of the folder "C:\ETKA\PROG\IX\PROG\" to "C:\ETKA\PROG1\" and overwrite the existing files.
not all files are latest in IX folder. should we replace all files to C:\ETKA\PROG1 from C:\ETKA\PROG\IX\PROG\ folder or just what is newer only?

I have somehow managed to get a working 8.0 version, by starting from v7.5 and installing manually and endless list of updates. then when upgraded to v8.0 it did another massive list of updates, at least automatically.
I took a snapshot of the virtual machine lol. now I am still scared of updating to v8.1...

how do you update Etka 8.0 to Etka 8.1. Always and again the message:
"On this system no ETKA 8 installation has been found.
The installation will be approached ".
Is there another alternative to "Planet-Fireball" above, copy and overwrite the files into various directories?
It seems that the ".exe" file for the update of Etka 8.1 does not search for the presence of Etka 8.0 in the right directory?
I am interested in any proposal.

Try my fix - it worked for at least 4 users with the same problem.

The "Planet-Fireball" proposal, post # 136 does not work for me either. I did the test on 2 installations. Once on disk D: \ and once on disk C: \
Maybe another version of the Etka 8.1 update file "ETKA81_Installation.exe" will be available soon?
Is there another link to download it?
