BMW E92 KOMBI UPDATE PROBLEM - bm92 - 18-04-2018
Hello y'all, i have a problem with my KOMBI
I want to fully update my car with ISTA but it tells me to replace KOMBI because ISTA cannot see hardware number of this one...
Maybe someone has the solution...
Maybe is it possible to write it in the eeprom data?

For best results, update it with WinKFP

Thanks buddy, so if i understand you well, i just update with winkfp and it will automatically write the HW number ?
But if it fails i will not be able code it after?
Does anyone know how to write HW index in KOMBI?

ISTA-P complaining, because You have wrong KOMBI installed. KOMBI in Your car is regular E9X but should be there KOMBI from M3. No idea if You have M3-VIN it's not visible or something else is wrong

Hi. I have the same problem. I want to retrofit a cruise control with a brake function. I buy a cluster from another car with a cruise control with a braking function. Now I need to change the VIN. How to do it? Winkfp do not edit VIN. Please help...

Flashing kombi with Winkfp.
And then flashing everything else with ISTA-P.
Deselect kombi with ISTA-P and then flash.

i think the problem is because ista p can not see the HW index of KOMBI
On the dash, sticker says "HW: OE" and ISTA shows "HW:O*"
Is there any possibilitie to write the letter "E" instead of "*" in dump ? flash eep ?

If the hardware is not the same as ISTA expects, why try to make software think that it is? I would think wrong software on your hardware would cause way more issues.
Also, it's much easier to flash with winkfp than pulling an eeprom in hopes of changing hardware number description.
