SDconnect C4 Wireless Network - ACK - 20-04-2018

All the instructions I have come across for setting up wireless networking on a SDconnect C4 use the ad-hoc network 192.168.2.xxx. I am already using 192.168.2.xxx as an infrastructure network (with a router/access point) for my other wireless networking needs - computers, file servers, etc. Is it possible to use 192.168.3.xxx for the ad-hoc network for SDconnect C4? I've tried and here's what I observed.

While setting up the wireless network (with the LAN cable attached), the SDconnect C4 accepts an IP address on the 192.168.3.xxx network and connects over wifi with the Xentry laptop. The wireless symbol displays on the SDconnect c4. At this point, I can disconnect the LAN cable and the wireless network stays active. However, when I power off the SDconnect C4 and restart it (with internal rechargeable batteries or by connecting to a car), it refuses to connect over wifi. When I connect the LAN cable, the wireless connection becomes active again. But what's the point of a wireless network if you have to connect a LAN cable to use it?

Do you think that the SDconnect C4 firmware is programmed to only work on 192.168.2.xxx ad-hoc network? Or could there be a different issue?

I solved this problem. See this thread ... https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=35091. The answer is that you can use any private network WLAN address for the MUX. It doesn't have to be in the 192.168.2.xxx range. I have it working on 192.168.5.xxx network.
