How to import FSC codes via ISTA+ - mjuhl2003 - 17-05-2018

Hi All

I have now tried on 2 different cars (F11) where I needed to import FSC codes to the KAFAS2 module. Both updated with ISTA+ (4.10.41). When It asks for the FSC codes I choose the folder I have on my desktop and says import. However ISTA will not import the codes??

I have tried to let it be in the ZIP folder I got from BMW - No Luck
I have unpacked everything - No luck
I have put it on a USB Drive (unpacked) - No Luck

What am I missing?

And yes I can use E-sys - But it's much faster if ISTA+ could import them?

Thanks in advance

Hi
Esys
Comfort mode -> FSC
Diagnostic Address (hex) = 0x5D
press "identify"
from above you choose the FSC file, add enter VIN number and press the Upgrade FSC button

He is asking for ISTA+, not ESYS.

As soon as ISTA+ will require any FSC to continue your plan it will ask you to choose the path on your HDD where are they located.
You dont need to put them on to USB drive as it was with ISTA-P.

release code (FSC) file (.xml)
e.g., FZ38042_00020001.xml

certificate file (.der)
e.g., FZ38042_00020001.der

– Media to copy the files on

USB stick (recommended)
CD-ROM media and CD/DVD burner
Floppy disc

Important Notes

This import function neither writes the code to the vehicle nor activates the associated function in the vehicle.
The activation will be requested during the measures plan realization.

When using a USB stick ensure, that it’s formatted as a removable disc (usually default format). Otherwise the stick will not be recognized by ISTA/P.
The FSC file (.xml) & the certificate file (.der) need to be extracted on the media. Do not copy the ZIP archive file on the media.

I am not asking about either E-sys nor Ista-p. I am asking for ISTA+

I have also put the fsc codes in a folder on my computer - But It will not import them. In the folder there is all the files from bmw. the .der, .xml, .fsc etc.

I had same issue today with a new NBT unit

No it's not. When it's part of an update of the car etc. It has to work with ISTA+
