UNIVERSSAL TOOL - marcian72 - 08-04-2014
HI every one,
I am new in the business and looking to buy some universal tools for diagnostic and reprogramming ECU. I have been searching and found some tools like Delphi DS150E, Autocom CDP for diagnostic, and Galletto 2 for reprogramming ECU, I really need help to start in this field as I run a mechanic garage and need a bit of technology, My budget is a bit low, looking for around $150 for each tool. Can any body help please.

Hi mate,
For diagnostics, autocom is good so as delphi- pretty the same stuff...
For ECU reprogramming it is a bit different. What ecu's you want to do?
I Would go for a eu clone at least if you want to do it for business..
In case of bricking you are in big shit if you dont have the right tools.

Any ECU reprograming, I found the Galletto 2 for that, but need more information about these tools, what is bricking?

Bricking is that you write a file to the ecu, and it suddenly stops or something else, and doesn't work any more by this the car doesn't start.
Mpps- galletto 2 are fine for edc15-16.
But with chinese gallettos you have to change a few things to make it work more or less properly

Well, the only thing I found within my budget is the galleto 2, chinese version, so which one works better than Galletto 2, and do edc 17? And what can I add to the galletto(chinese one) to make it work better. I think I am gone be your student.

No tool is perfect...
You need to have more tools to work serious.
Galletto 2 can do edc17 over boot mode. But it's chinese quality
ktag is another option.

Ktag is good but very expensive, don't has a clone one.

I came across this tool MAG PRO2 V4.1 ECU Tuning Tool Multi-Languages, is it good for bricking all ECU's?

You can buy ktag for about 150 euro or less...
Not bad tool, but it can't do newer ecu's like other tools can.
What ecu's will you do mostly?

Mate i think you understand something wrong. In Case of Bricking ECU car won´t start anymore and you need good other Tools to repair it.
