Diagnostic BMW E46 - AC31991 - 28-06-2018

Hello at all.

I have a problem with the diagnostic at my e46 construction year 09.2001.
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Software: Ista 4.10.20, EDIABAS 7.3.0, NODE voltage control tool, EDIABAS configuration tool
Hardware: K+D-Can cable

Com Port is set on com2 and the waittime on 1ms

obd.ini is set on com2

ediabas.ini is set on STD:OBD via ediabasconfigurator and i tried it manually

cabledriver is installed

ista vci config is set on ediabas

if i start the diagnostic via ista i became the error that ista cant find my car respectively i should activate pad mode. Node Voltagecontrol is working and the voltage is displayed on the right corner in ista.
is it possible that i need an pin 7 pin 8 connector for this car?

Inpa on my virtual windows xp machine with this settings and the same cable is working.

I hope someone can help me.

Best regards

Yes, you need pin 7 pin 8 connector for this car!

Or solder pin 7 and 8 together.

Can you read modules with the cables in Inpa, or only see 2 black dots?

Thanks for your answer. Today i used a pin 7 pin 8 connector and it works.

In Inpa it works.

I have a question about that.

Is there a list for car where you have to use the connector or is it different for each car?

Best regards.

Here is a chart that will help understand which connector is needed for what car. Including whether pin 8 needs to be enabled or not.

So in practice
Cars that do not have CIC use a cable with interconnected pins,
On CIC cars, they used a pin with pinned cables.
For example, the E60 offers both options according to the year.
