E90 Retroffit sports heated seats - dextuar - 10-07-2018

Hi,

I bought electric sport heated recaro seats with memory and lumbar support and would like to change my manual normal also heated seats with them. The car I bought the seats from has the same build year and month as my car - 03/2006.

Could anyone explain what wiring needs to be done and what coding should be changed? Will adding the appopriate code to the VO and then code the JBBF be enought from the coding side once the wiring is correct?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there. You need to check with Rheingold (ISTA/D). Connect with your VIN, check wiring for your seats (car). Then connect with VIN from car which has the electric sport heated recaro seats, and check wiring for seats. Compare and make modifications.

Well, this is the donors VIN: VF37484
But I cannot find in ISTA any difference to mine.

You will need to check the yellow plug under the seats.

If you have heated seats then its possible that you have the power leads already.

If you do then all you need to do is add the electric/memory options to the VO and code the jbr.

You may need to add power wires (each side) for the lumbar as well.

Use ista-d to get the correct pinouts for the yellow plug, you may need to re-pin a few to get the car loom aligned to the new seats.

I retrofitted an e92 m3 interior in my sport and also added the heating, it was plug and play with mine as i had memory sport seats thankfully.

I have a link to another site that gives you pretty much everything you need to work it out, but im allowed to post a link in the main thread.

Thanks, I guess I know which site you mean. I have wired and coded everything and it is working. The problem is that the seats were previously on a RHD car and my car is LHD. After connecting everything, the directions of the seat with memory /now passenger seat/ are reversed, driver's seat directions are working fine. Also pushing the left heating button activates the right seat and vice versa. Is it possible that I just swap the control units under the seats?

Yes, swapping the control module should do the trick.

the memory seat adjust module for LHD is freely available in the uk for cheap money.

Looking at the seat modules (coding wise), it looks like you can have meory on both sides as well, so it could be in idea to get the uk memory and then add that to you seat and then code the memory for the passenger.

I have picked up a eu seat memory adjust module and will be adding that to my interior at some point.

I only have the memory on the right seat, which is the driver's seat in a RHD, but the passenger seat in my LHD car. The problem is, once I connected the seat with memory to CAN line, the car recognized the driver's seat, in my car the passenger seat, and now the buttons for heating are not working correct. I read that the passenger and drivers seat are quite different internally when there is memory option, that there is a difference in the motors because of hall sensors. This is why I am not sure if it is possible to just swap the control units, so that physically the seats remain in the same place but the car applies the heating command to the correct seat.
