With the time and effort involved in swapping those transistors, you're better of just swapping for a good used PCM. And fix the issue that initially caused the transistors to fail which is the spark plugs. I replace all 6 coils/plugs (Motorcraft only) since the upper manifold is coming off anyway. RE: 2005 Ford Escape PCM problem - koziol - 12-07-2018 its almost impossible to get good used PCM RE: 2005 Ford Escape PCM problem - xtac1080 - 12-07-2018 (12-07-2018, 12:18 PM)koziol Wrote: its almost impossible to get good used PCM What country are you located in? I've done well over 20 of these, all with used. Any local dismantler should have these by the boatload. RE: 2005 Ford Escape PCM problem - koziol - 19-07-2018 Back to this car again found proper transistors 5503GM and proper Current Sense Resistors replaced them ,all coils and spark plugs new vehicle start fine and after few seconds it badly misfires, i opened PCM transistor for coil 4 burned again and one of the resistors also blown . replaced them again switched coil and spark plug from cyl 4 to 6 start the vehicle runs fine for few seconds and again misfire and same transistor for number 4 and one Current Sense Resistors blown.Any solution to my problem ? Check for solid ground on motor. Perhaps something else is messed up inside PCM if those things check out? |
