Ford IDS older cars - jerome110383 - 14-08-2018

Hello,

I heard at a ford dealer that recent versions of ids were problematic with old Ford. it bug or old Ford are no longer covered by ids.
Which version of ids sufficiently recent can diagnose old ford with vcm1 and especially a stable version.
Thank you for your answers

Use version 86 with VCM 1 for older cars.

Not ids buggy. Don't know what about VCM1 clone it's bad or not, but... Don't buy VCM2 clone. VCM 2 clones are all bad,no matter if it vxdiag, it's have the same buggy VCM2 clone passthru, It's very hard to find a good VCM2 clone. Better for old ford cars use ELM327 and forscan software, it's much faster and can generate in-codes without any calculators... IDS can't generate in-codes you need to buya calculator or find a people who can generate.

Version 86 is the one you want. There are good VCM2 clones. Later IDS versions are mixed with old files and do have some issues with some module programming.
