ISTA/P Activation code for factory installed Servotronic - macagoule - 17-08-2018

Hi every one,

I'm new to this forum and really enjoy this community !!

So, I have recently installed latest ISTA+ - ISTA/P in order to upgrade my 2009/09 E90. Since a so long period, there are a lot of ECU to Upgrade and Code as show in the attached picture.

But, before I start the job, I saw that for EPS module, ISTA is asking for an Activation Code. I looked about several topics https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=9795 and also https://www.bmwdriversforum.nl/viewtopic.php?t=14140 and it seems to be related to #216 Servotronic Option.

But since I'm factory equiped with this option, why ISTA asking for an Activation Code ? Is it a FSC Code required ?

I'm a bit lost around that. Any help would be great. Thanks. wink2

I think it because of the programming it will be deleted and must be imported again.

Is it something I can get from a FSC Repair Kit ? If so, is it something I can get for free since I do not want to pay again for something I already have. Thanks !

You may or may not get it for free.
It is available for free from the ASAP portal, which is BMW employee access only. Although many of them BMW employees have friends using their own credentials, or they are renting their account password.

Regardless someone might be keen enough to help out of their free time to get in there download the files and post them up to you.
Or you may have to pay a fee for their time.

At the end of the day, nothing is ever free.
You can always ask you local dealer too and see what they say.

Thanks for these useful informations ! If anyone reading this post can send me the repair kit, I would be really happy. I can pay a small fee and also a beer for someone close to Paris - FR smile
In the meanwhile, I’ll also ask my dealer and see what he can do.

Hi Fx82, this is to let you know I have successfully upgraded all the modules including EPS by importing the missing FSC code. Again, many thanks to you for your support.
