Retrofit question: E90 climate control in E60? - newspeed - 01-09-2018
I personally dislike the 3 knob climate control setup in the e60. I miss having a separate LCD readout for the temperature and fan setting.
Has anyone ever explored the possibility of swapping an e90 climate control unit into a E60? Obviously, the trim cover would need to be custom fabricated but would it be possible to make it work by swapping wires to mate up to the e90 connector pin out and have it successfully coded to be functional?

Easy answer would be NO not possible, but depending on how adequate you are and how much time and effort you want to but in it, it shouldnt be impossible.
My biggest concern would be, how to fit the climate control in the e60&e61

I'm not worried about physically fitting, I can easily custom fabricate a trim bezel.
I am mostly looking for an answer on whether it can be made functional.
