How to read flash file to make virgin - xtac1080 - 10-09-2018

Hello all,

I have a 2012 Infiniti G37 ECM that I would like to make virgin but I don't know what tools to use or where to begin. I cannot find any concrete info on if this can be done via OBD or if I need a reader like KTAG. The ECM is a Hitachi NEC001-097. It doesn't matter if I brick/destroy the ECM as I am just using it to learn. I have PCB de-/soldering experience in the past. Anyone have any reading material on how I can go about achieving this?

Thanks CarT!

year 2012 you can use used ecu . but 2014 and up need virgin state. ktag don't support all of them .

I don't have any problems adopting keys. The problem is the current flash is for an AWD vehicle and I'd like to put it in a RWD car, but Nissan does not allow this flash path (NERS rejects). I think it's best to put the ECM back to "blank" status and then I can flash the RWD file I have. AWD & RWD ECMs are the exact same part.

Perhaps these pictures of ECM can help.
