mk1 octavia remote locking problem.going nuts! - tdibooster - 29-09-2018

my remote locking stopped working on my fob.tried the other 1 and nothing from that either.
i had a faulty door microswitch so replaced that. broken loom wire and i fixed that. no fault codes now.
with vcds i have done the adapting remote thing, but still nothing. noticed when i got to measuring blocks i think when i press the buttons on each fob the value doesnt change. im sure the one with 0-0-0-0.
so...i went to lock shop and both fobs are giving out a signal,so they seem fine.
so what should i be looking at next? the fob emits signal and somehow its not getting to the ccm or ecu. where is the antenna for mk1octavia remote signals? someone said its the wire around the antenna on roof.correct?
this is driving me crazy/ anyone any suggestions? i know my pin number and have vcds by the way. thanks
ps: i did,at 1 time swap the insides over from each fob, plus batteries etc. but at least 1 fob worked for a short while that i know of so cant see that causing anything.just in case ive ordered 2 brand new chips off ebay(virgin),to give those a go at some point
