KIA GDS on Windows 10 error - infobitas - 29-10-2018
Hi,
I have a problem with my GDS on Windows 10. I was not using it for a while. Last time i used it - got a message not to update Windows 10, but it was to late.
Now GDS does not work property. It shows VCI: USB On in app header, shows / updates FW, but can't communicate with a car. It shows message "VCI is not recognized on GDS properly".
But it works fine with the same GDS version on virtual machine with Windows XP.
GDS SW is E-K-03-12-0018, FW 2.26 (Latest version, no updates are available).
Does anybody else have this problem ?

From same reason I'm runing GDS only in VirtualBox with Windows XP (desktop) and at old NB with XP only. No need to care about updates of Windows

I had XP on VirtualBox too, but i faced problems using it too. Sometimes i could not redirect USB device to vitrual PC. Now i made lite version of Windows 10 (removing all not necessary features with NTLite) using build before updates, that killed GDS. I made a virtual on VMWare player (free for personal use), now it works OK. My notebook has enough hardware resources for it. I will move other Diag soft to this virtual as well.
But i don't like the idea of using virtuals in general, that would be not necessary if GDS worked like before.
