Retrofitting NBT F20 - Fatalix - 13-12-2018
Hey.
Looking for some help, and have got a couple of questions..
I want to retrofit NBT into my F20. It currently has got CIC, with COMBOX with Apps loaded.
I need to know when i retrofit NBT, can i use the same FSC for Apps in the used NBT unit? I also want to have BMW Live activated at the same time.
Do i need to use emulator, or can i simply just buy a set of FSCs for my VIN from a guy that can do it?
What about the current combox, what do i do with it when i retrofit the NBT?
Do i need another controller or can i use my current if i dont care about touch controller?

You need full fsc set for NBT.
You need to do re-wiring of microphones from combox to HU.
If you have controller on CAN2 it will work. If not - you need to change wiring from CAN1 to CAN2.
Controller can be reflashed.

So rewire mic for NBT to HU-H connector, new cid to HUH cable, disconnect combox and most loop it over, rewire can1 controller to can2, and simply just code controller?

I do have kcan2 controller currently fitted, so it would just need a reflash.
Can anyone confirm what i need else? No emulator if i use FSC set for VIN?

Is it possible to add Apps and BMW Live also just by loading the FSC?

Apps yes, Live no, you need valid VIN with active access and emulator or use same VIN as your car and get provisioning files from another headunit that has valid access
