ford IDS error code 7 - 0x23 851082 - Click4 - 18-01-2019

Hi,

Ford Mondeo 2001, 2.0 Duratec HE, Automatic

Trying to flash the PCM with a VCM2.

It gets to about 25% roughly on the progress bar then displays this error,

error code 7 - 0x23 851082

OLd calibration was

1S7F-12A650-DAD

New

1S7F-12A650-DAF

Doing it because when identifying the PCM IDS said it was mandary to update.

Can’t find out what error code means other than the last bit 851082 is some kind of timeout.

Thanks

Use VCM I, it will work.

Check the FEPS (Flash Eprom Programming Signal) voltage on OBD pin 13, it must 18-19 Volt.

That's a common problem with a lot of cloned interfaces and programming.

which version of IDS you use ? to me worked with v 98 up / ford mondeo mk3 tdci 2004

v 86 ...v96 they did not offer 18 volt on pin 13
FEPS voltage is a Ford way to initiate flash programming by sending 18 volts to PCM via pin 13 of diagnostic connector.

This signal is only coming from VCM during flash erasing/programming.

Is this voltage on pin 13 comes and goes with certain pattern or can I just add external 18 v to initialize programming mode?
