n63 pressure in the rail of cylinder bank 2 drops too quickly - bmwlover - 31-01-2019

Hello. What can be the reason?
I see 29e1 error very often.

Most likely a leaking injector I would say. Remove the spark plugs and see which looks wet or black.

Can I check injector leaking with ista without removing it? I have index 11 injectors. Only 40000 miles. Also why I have so many misfires on other cylinders too? I bought car when it had 20000miles and saw 1000-3000 misfires on every cylinder.

You can only detect misfire but not an open leaking injector. The misfire detection is a mess on the N63 it is very common that the counter raises but no misfire is happen.

I remember your previous posts which helped me. After that checked many n63 engines and they do not have so many misfire counts. If I detect misfire, I will say that it is leaking injector because I have good spark plugs and coils. Is not it right?

I am with you. If the sparks and the coils are ok. Then it must be the injector. But I would not use the counters in the DME ECU as indicator. If you have a "real" fault in the Error-List or the ABL asks you to replace the injector then it is ok.

injector 99%.. you can see that with your  diag tool
have a good day

How to check it wity my diag tool? I was not able to find that test for injectors or for misfires. Cannot find in google too.
Faults are: 29e1; 2b1b; 2b1d
mixture control bank 2 and msifires on cylinder 6-8
I think that injector cannot cause 29e1 -miture control bank 2 error. But 29e1 can cause misfires. Because of that I checked air mass sensors but they work.

Why do you think 29e1 can't be caused by leaky injector? Its the exact code which is caused by leaky or clogged injector. It tells that DME is not able to control mixture so oxygen sensors get into valid range whatever it does. Given your tests indicate rapid drop of pressure in bank 2 conclusion is 99.99% - leaky injector (other 0.01% is simultaneous failure of multiple components). So get your hands dirty and do proper diagnosis - take spark plugs out and look at their condition.

P.S. regarding misfires:
1. Leaky injector injects too much fuel
2. Oxygen sensors sense too little oxygen
3. DME tries to decrease fuel amount injected for the whole bank 2
4. You get even more misfires on bank 2 because now fuel can't even ignite properly
Simple reason-consequence logic.

Thank you for the explanation. And what do you think, why I have misfires on bank 1? I had more misfire counts on bank 2 than on bank 1 when car had 20000 miles. But did not have any problem till 40000miles. What does this mean?
