Flash F-series logic7 amp on bench? - vilord - 11-02-2019

Does anyone know how to update the i-level of a MOST/Logic 7 amp on a bench, what is needed?
I have e-sys, winkfp, tool32, etc tools, and I have a ZGW, but it is not a MOST gateway, and the amp does not have any pins for KCAN.
Can I use an Evo or pro radio as a MOST gateway to flash the amp?

I also have an ICOM with the MOST interface, but don't have an F series car, nor do I currently have an OBDII port wired up on my bench.

any headunit with most connection will do the job , without headunit you can't flash the amp as the amp is only speaks with the headunit , EVO will do the job if you only have that .

Enet is more than enough to flash the amp . follow the normal procedure exactly as if you are flashing a control unit in any Fxx car .

okay i'll give it a try. when i was hooked up to the evo last night, the amp didn't show up at all, though i was connected via the gateway over KCAN, as the ethernet port on my evo seems to have a weird on/off cycling thing going on (which i've read may be due to the emulator)

if all connections are good and 100% correct , then you should be able to see EVO and AMP in the ECU list .

Also... are there any coding options for amps? I noticed the E series amp played PDC sounds through the mid-back speakers, whereas the F amp seems to only play them through the rear speakers, which my car is not yet wired for... and the subwoofers are too loud (4 ohm drivers and the amp is expecting 8 ohm)

Flashed through my Evo. PDC is back working. Changed the EQ to F31 to be closer to my E91. Subs are still too loud because of being 4 ohm, but dropping the 100hz output a few notches got me close enough.
Amp didn't show up in a few cases, but messing with ign+ signals brought it back working. Now installed in the car, it needs a fan, and also... it doesn't fit! argh... smile

unless you live in the desert , you don't need FAN , I ran F01 amp for 3 years without any issues .

I fabricated my own bracket using metal sheets and L shape brackets . offcourse I made 3 holes in the amp cooling fins to fit screws .

I'm using an F30 amp (the HK one with the diagonal fins), which seems to be bigger than the F01 amp in practically every dimension... When sitting in the E90 bracket the tool compartment won't sit flush.

I have an F30 bracket with a fan and two E90 brackets... I'll get to cutting them up maybe this weekend.
