Bench flash ZGW - learnaswego - 13-02-2019

Hi guys, im new to the forum and this tech/coding
I have been reading the posts and following the guides as much as i can but still coming up short so here i am.
I have a donor/replacement nbt unit that is slightly older than the vehicle build, the original one was stolen.
Rather than flash it in the car, i thought it would less risky to bench flash it.i bought a harness and a zgw02 mid.
I am connecting to esys ok, but so far i have failed to flash the zgw with any success, it goes through the process but when i reconnect, the svt tree still says zgw, where i believe it should say zgw2 after a proper flash.
Any help/guidance would be appreciated

zgw02 mid?
Wrong start here, you need ZGW 4SK or 8SK or Mid converted to 8SK

Since your car has the correct ZGW, you could simply flash in the car, no more risks here, or take out your ZGW from the car temporally and use it on the bench

I was a bit weary of flashing it in the car, so do i just select the hu_nbt for flashing after i calculate svt and tal.

thanks

In the TAL calculation window read out the SVT actual via the read(ECU) button,
then when calculating the SVT target press the HW-IDs from SVTactual button.
This will solve any issues caused by the shipment I-step difference between the car and the donor NBT.

So this "press the HW-IDs from SVTactual button.", does away with the need to extract istep in master tab, calculate svt_ist based on most likely I-step of donor, check If target is compatible to actual, and keep doing that with istep shipment until we find a good match for a used module?

Right, so after I flash it, do i then need to write the car fa/vo to the nbt?
