ford ranger 2014 seat belts locked - rapidtuning - 20-02-2019
hi just after some advise, i have a 2014 ford ranger that was involved in an accident now the seat belts are locked, how do i go about releasing them and also can I reuse or have to buy new? do i have to reset crash data? what tool would you reccomend? thanks

follow these steps,
first step when removing belts is to tie a knot or cable tie belt at re-tractor
remove SRS plug locking clip with a small screw driver
now on the sides there are two covers, the one will cover the gear mech and the other will house the ignitor chamber and locking ball
remove cover you should see a metal ball remove it and jamming pin, you might need to wiggle belt to release the ball a little to pry it out.
make sure that you keep belt secured with cable tie or knot because if belts shoots back when ball is removed its a pain to pull belt out from re tractor for re install.
this should help expect for light.
remove cluster open front cover cut small piece of black tape dbl up, lift display sheet and stick tape on reverse to hide light. temp repair
not reusable because of ignitor circuits and any generic OBD device can reset light. SRS self resets crash data
