Help/advice needed - learnaswego - 27-02-2019

Hi all, i am retro fitting idrive controller, nbt high plus screen, hk amp and eventually a steering wheel.
All were stolen from the vehicle so its a bit of a project for a newbie.
First things first, the nbt that was stolen was an evo, for now i have sourced a nbt high, the proper hk amp, a non touch screen, and a touch idrive contoller.
I have tried to flash the nbt several times both on the bench and in situ, when i do it in situ, i get some heavy duty messages appear, like transmission failure, power steering failure, traction control failure, these make me take notice. Then the flash process finishes up after about 2 min, from what starts out at 45min to 1hr 10min it just says tal execution finished Duration 2min 17s (C206) My question is could this be because the nbt is older than the car itself?
Today i vo coded the nbt to the car, removed DAB from the fa ,as the replacement nbt doesnt have it, this unlocked a lot of options on the nbt such as surround view, ambient lighting options, logic 7 equalizer etc.... that wernt there previoiusly. I still havent got the time display, is this due to it not yet being flashed?
Next up is the amplifier, i am waiting on the two most optical connectors to arrive, the rest i have reconnected already. When i turn on the car i get a message now saying no warning tones, is this due to the most optical cables not yet connected or does the amp need vo coded to the car aswell.
The idrive touch controller seems to work perfectly, or does this too need coded?
many questions, any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance
