For the best results on this engine first you have to check and adjust:

-INJECTION TIMING
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-scope/TDIGraph.html
But your pump differs from this on the video. Yours is an older version. It has 3 screws through the pulley and one on the back. First, lose 3 screws through the pulley lightly. Than let the engine run to the 80 deg. Lose 4 screw and push the pump in the direction of the cockpit, to get the early injection. Watch te screen and set it in the upper third point. Tight the screw when you reach the point you need.
Turn off engine. Tighten the other screws, through the holes in the pulley !!!

-INJECTION QUANTITY
VCDS measuring blocks/group 1/field 2
Set it cca 3,5 mgr/str (I can not explain it now, but: do not push to higher values because it will not get better, but opposite.)
Do this by slightly loosening the screws and gently pushing the upper part of the pump in the direction of the pump shaft. It's about a fraction of a millimeter. The engine must be hot. Watch the amount of fuel on the monitor all the time.

You can adjust Injection timing and quantity by vcds cabble if need help pm

Of course it can.
This is an old car and this is probably no longer interesting to anybody, but I've fixed a lot of these pumps.
You young people are looking for quick fixes.
Sometimes the regulator can not reach the soft set and the pump must be moved physically.
So, this instruction above is for the pure old school and leave 32768 untouched.
Old man-old school.
