BIN activation method deleted original FSC files - superczar - 12-03-2019

Sometime ago, I activated carplay through the USB bin activation method.
Unfortunately at that point in time, I was not aware that this method will delete all original fsc files.
Thus I could not take any backups of the original FSC files either

Now I have to send my car for service and I understand BMW will be performing a software update that locks out the USB bin activation method.

I believe that because of the fake FSC files, other features like navigation will also stop working after the update.
My question is that will it be possible for me to reactivate Carplay and the other original features after this update?

Would it be as straightforward as reloading the fake fsc files via E-Sys or do I need to do something else?

Nope you won't be able to reload the BIN file
If BMW updates your radio, they will restore the original FSC files

Now you can ask BMW not to flash your radio, they have an option to skip ENTERTAINMENT components when updating the car.

If not, you will have to pay again your original supplier or another one so he can activate this again.

After newest i-level update, USB patching through USB port is blocked by BMW, and now you need to be directly connected to HU through ENET to upload the custom FSC set.
